PROFILI AKADEMIK

Skender Luarasi është arkitekt dhe pedagog. Ai mban një doktoraturë në arkitekturë me fokus në histori dhe teori nga Yale, 2018, i cila hulumton se si përfundojnë proceset e projektimit dhe historinë ligjeruese të një pyetjeje të tillë. Një tjetër kërkim hulumton qëndrueshmërinë e formës urbane: si forma i paraprin dhe merr pjesë në ndërtimin ose fshirjen e qytetit. Luarasi ka prezantuar kërkimet e tij në konferenca të shumta ndërkombëtare dhe ka botuar në Future Anterior, Log, Disegnare, Bitácora, Haecceity, A+P Forum dhe revista të tjera. Ai është bashkëeditor i librit Në kërkim të San Carlinos: Perspektiva të mbledhura mbi gjeometrinë e barokut [Finding San Carlino: Collected Perspectives on the Geometry of the Baroque], Routledge, 2019. dhe Kufijtë e vete-gjenerimit të vetvetes: Perspektiva të mbledhura mbi konceptet bashkëkohore të organicizmit [The Limits of Self-generation: Collected Perspectives on the Contemporary Concepts of Organicism], Routledge, 2023. Ai është autor i librit Të mbijetosh përmes arkitekturës: një studim dhe analizë e veprës arkitekturore të Skënder Kristo Luarasit, 1908-1976 [Survival through Architecture: A Survey and Analysis of the Architectural Oeuvre of Skënder Kristo Luarasi, 1908-1976], TU Graz Verlag, 2023, i cili hulumton temën e modernizmit para modernizmit. Skender Luarasi ka një Master në Arkitekturë nga MIT, dhe një Baçelor në Arkitekturë nga Wentworth Institute of Technology. Aktualisht është Dekan i Fakultetit për Kërkim dhe Zhvillim në Universitetin POLIS në Tiranë. Ai më parë ka dhënë mësim në Yale, RISD, UMass Amherst, WSU dhe MIT.
