POLIS University Participates in the 20th AESOP “Heads of Schools” Meeting

POLIS University participated in the 20th AESOP Heads of Schools Meeting, held on March 11–14, 2026, in Ås, Norway, and hosted by the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). This event brought together heads of planning schools, academics, and researchers from across Europe to discuss current developments and future directions in planning education and research.

This year’s meeting was organized under the theme “Planning Resilient Communities in Uncertain Times: Navigating Climate Change and Emerging Technologies”, focusing on how planning schools can respond to environmental, social, and technological challenges through innovative teaching methods and research initiatives.

As an active member of the Association of European Schools of Planning (AESOP), POLIS University was represented at the meeting by its Rector, Prof. Dr. Besnik Aliaj, who participated in institutional discussions and academic exchanges with representatives of leading European planning schools.

The AESOP Heads of Schools Meeting is an annual forum that brings together academic leaders and heads of planning schools to exchange experiences, discuss curriculum development, and strengthen collaboration within the European planning education community.

POLIS University continues to actively contribute to AESOP initiatives, supporting academic collaboration and promoting excellence in education and research in urban and regional planning. Participation in the 2026 meeting also reflects the university’s commitment to international cooperation and to advancing planning education in Europe.
