POLIS University is a self-financed institution with strong social responsibilities. The founders are a prominent group of Albanian professionals, civil society activists and academics, aiming to create a “critical mass” of experts and leaders of private enterprise and public administration, capable of pushing Albania and the region towards the EU and global trends .

POLIS has three main units: three Faculties, an inter-departmental unit the Interdisciplinary Research and Innovation Study Center (IF), and a UNECE Center of Excellence (OMB). Each faculty consists of three basic units: two Departments and a Research Center.

In total, this Institution has the following structures: 3 Faculties, 6 Departments, 3 Centers, and 3 Strategic Research Partners, located on the U_POLIS campus: Institute for Habitat Development (Co-Plan); Studio of Architecture and Urban Design (Metro_POLIS); as well as the partner in the protection of the rights of the AUA profession – Union of Architects, Urbanists and Urban Planners.
