Dean’s Welcome
The Faculty of “Planning, Environment and Urban Management” (FPMMU) is an interdisciplinary faculty that develops professionals ready for the local and global market, melting knowledge stemming from territorial governance, environmental studies, management studies, to business school ” Polis Business School ”(PBS). Territory, environment and entrepreneurship (trade) constitute a millennial ecosystem, which is explored and applied to the FPMMU with the most progressive pedagogical and scientific methods.
The main units of the FPMMU Faculty are: i) Department of Urban Planning and Management, ii) Department of Environment, iii) Sustainability Research Unit (in interdependence of IF Innovation Factory). The faculty has 3 basic units, 3 profiled schools, and 6 academic programs (Bachelor, Professional, Scientific and Integrated Master). The faculty has several laboratories, “Ad-Hock” consulting units, the Research Center; as well as the possibility of profiling through LLF Learning (LIFE Learning) training and PhD studies.
FPMMMU, as part of Polis University, is a member of the European School of Planning School (AESOP / ENHR / ISOCARP), environment and landscape (ECLAS), as well as (CEEMAN) entrepreneurship. The study programs of this faculty have shown high sustainability in time, passing important stages of international accreditation and membership, as well as preceding the labor market dynamics.
FPMMMU prides itself on strong links to practice, matching the development of skills with market needs. Our teaching is characterized by a close engagement with students, as well as the constant innovation of pedagogical programs and methods. Our students develop a global mindset by participating in numerous cultures through exchange programs, engaging in teamwork and in contact with local and foreign staff. This faculty has a very strong social mission providing services and consulting to local communities and authorities in need. It has an excellent interaction and symbiosis with the Co-PLAN Institute which is also the origin of POLIS University.
Our professors come from prestigious institutions like IHS / Erasmus University Rotterdam,, La Sapienza University, Columbia University, Harvard Business School, University of Montpellier, IEDC-Bled School of Management, Kyushu Sangyo University, University of Tirana, University of Ferrara, etc. Also, they have long experience of public and non-public institutions, and in local and global companies.
