POLIS University has well defined “Independent Structures” which guarantee the functioning and good governance of the institution.
Approval of proposals for persons who have applied to defend their doctorate.
Approval of the files of persons who have applied for academic titles and follow-up for further proceedings according to the by-laws in force.
POLIS University has a “Joint Council of Professors” with DA, University of Ferrara, Italy, with which it co-organizes joint third-level programs. The Joint Council of Professors is sanctioned by institutional agreement between the rectors, and recognized by the relevant ministries of education and science in both countries. In this context, the capacities of U_POLIS for staff and professorships are maximum.
KPPA – COMMISSION FOR THE PROMOTION OF ACADEMIC PERSONNEL
This commission has a historic role in promoting several honorary and academic titles, including:
o Florian Raunig (Austria) – Polis University in cooperation with the Ministry of Education – Former head of the Austrian Technical Cooperation in Albania, former ambassador of Austria and the OSCE in Albania. Outstanding Contribution to the whole country, and the consolidation of Co-Plan Institute and Polis University.
o Sef Slootweg (Netherlands) – Polis in cooperation with the Ministry of Education – Global level expert for planning and development projects. Co-founder of the Co-Plan Institute from 1995 and advisor for the establishment and consolidation of the capacities of Polis University, as two independent and sustainable civil structures in Albania.
o Dr. Peter Nientied (Netherlands) – Polis University in collaboration with the Ministry of Education – European expert for organizational and urban development. Former head of academic-chemical institutions in Holland. Advisor for capacity building and organization of the Co-Plan Institute and Polis University, and lecturer or consultant at this brain from 1995 until today.
o Dr. Arben Shtylla – Polis University in collaboration with the Ministry of Education – Expert and lecturer with experience from the establishment of Polis University to today. Contribution at the national level for the synthesis of the field and technology of architecture and construction in Albania.
o Dr. Merita Guri – Polis University in cooperation with the Ministry of Education – Valuable academic, practical and research contribution to Polis University and the Polytechnic University of Tirana; as well as the establishment of the School of Construction Engineering at the University of Polis.
o Dr. Sotir Dhamo – Polis University in collaboration with the Ministry of Education – Valuable academic, administrative and research contribution to Polis University and the Polytechnic University of Tirana, Urban Planning branch; as well as the establishment and consolidation of Polis University.
o Dr. Besnik Aliaj – Polis University in collaboration with the Ministry of Education – Valuable academic, administrative and research contribution to Polis University and the Polytechnic University of Tirana, Urban Planning branch; as well as the establishment and consolidation of Polis University.
o Dr. Godiva Rembeci – Polis University in collaboration with the University of Tirana – Valuable academic, administrative and research contribution to Polis University and the National Institute of Statistics, as well as raising the Statistics-Demography profile at Polis University.
o Dr. Besnik Aliaj – Polis University in collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Tirana – Valuable academic, administrative and research contribution to Polis University and the Polytechnic University of Tirana, Urban Planning branch; as well as the establishment and consolidation of Polis University.
o Prof. Dr. Luljeta Bozo – Polis University in collaboration with the Ministry of Education – Valuable academic, intellectual and research contribution to Polis University and Tirana Polytechnic University; as well as the consolidation of the Geotechnical profile, near the Civil and Environmental Engineering branches, Polis University.
o Prof. Dr. Sherif Lushaj – Polis University in cooperation with the Ministry of Education – Valuable academic, administrative and research contribution to Polis University and to Agricultural Research Institutes; as well as the consolidation of the profile: territory, property, rural development, environment, etc., near the FPMMU faculty, Polis University.
