“The Humanist @ the Tech Table” – Gaia Tedone

As part of the “Art & Design Forums” programme, the MAD Center at POLIS University welcomed digital humanist, researcher, and curator Gaia Tedone (PhD), who delivered a lecture titled “The Humanist @ the Tech Table.

During the presentation, Tedone shared reflections on the role of the humanist in the age of artificial intelligence, discussing the impact of generative technologies on processes of creation, curation, and knowledge production. Drawing on her interdisciplinary research and practice, she explored both the challenges and opportunities arising from the integration of AI into the fields of art, design, and culture, highlighting the importance of humanistic perspectives in the development and use of these technologies.

Particular attention was given to her latest project, “The Humanist at The Tech Table,” which explores the intersection of food, language, and artificial intelligence as a way to reflect on emerging practices and imaginaries shaping the relationship between humans and technology.

The event was followed by a lively discussion with students, faculty members, and other participants, creating a space for dialogue on the future of artificial intelligence and its impact on the creative sectors.

The event was organized by the MAD Center / Gëzim Qëndro Gallery at POLIS University, with the support of the Italian Cultural Institute in Tirana.
