REMIJON PRONJA

ACADEMIC PROFILE

Remijon Pronja is a lecturer in the Art and Design department at the Faculty of Architecture and Design (FAD). He is also the director of the center – MAD Center “Gëzim Qëndro”
During this period at Polis University, he was engaged in the courses of History of Contemporary Art, Painting and Drawing, and earlier he gave his contribution as a lecturer at the “Jordan Misja” Artistic High School.
In addition to her academic career, Pronja is one of the co-founders of MIZA Galeri, an artist-run space in Tirana (2012 – 2017), dedicated to the promotion and support of emerging artists from Albania and abroad.
He also has a contribution to the artistic scene as a visual artist, his artwork deals with the human condition. Property has always been attracted to the way different cultures have struggled to describe their efforts towards awareness. Thanks to the Master in Fine Arts completed at the University of Milan, it led him to investigate cultural appropriation, borrowing interdisciplinary methods. His installations, paintings and drawings include recurring themes drawn from life and the phobias it spawns. Homesickness, migration and the feeling of loss are among the themes that Pronja brings to life.
Among other things, Remijon Pronja is also the winner of the Ardhje 2018 award and currently a PhD candidate at U-Polis and Unife.
