ACADEMIC PROFILE

Gazmend Haxhia – Is a Professor of Business Administration at Polis University. He graduated from Tirana University, Faculty of Foreign Languages; he earned his MIA degree in International Affairs at Columbia University, USA; and further educated himself at INSEAD Fontainebleau and Harvard Business School. In addition to the rich academic career he is a well-experienced creative entrepreneur, as a licensed owner and president of AVIS rent a car Albania and quite recently of BUDGET Rent a Car, Tirana (Albania). He is also an Associate Faculty for Entrepreneurship and Practicing Management at IEDC-Bled School of Management, Slovenia. Since 2006, Mr. Haxhia has been External Adviser to the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Albania. mr. Haxhia is a multiple founder and entrepreneur: he is co-founder and co-Chairman of ACMS-Albanian Center for Management Services (the market leader in offering trainings and executive search services to the Albanian business community) and the owner of Albania Experience Travel Company (the leading incentive and event organizer and travel company in Albania). He is also one of the co-founders of POLIS University and initiator of POLIS Business School. In addition, Mr. Haxhia is also a partner of Opel Noshi company in Tirana and licensed owner of “In Your Pocket” guidebooks of Tirana, Skopje, Pristine and Podgorica. He is a lecturer in Leadership, Marketing Services, and the Responsible Administrator (a course in ethics) at Tirana University and Nebraska University MBA/MPA Program. He is a member of Business Advisory Council at Stability Pact, Advisory Board Member at Commercial Bank of Albania, Board of Trustees Member of the American University in Kosovo, a member of Young Presidents Organization and Board Member of CEEMAN management development association. He was elected as a Young Global Leader from the DAVOS World Economic Summit in 2008, and is an active member of that community. In the past, he served as an Aide in the Prime Minister’s Office, Department of Public Administration, Tirana, and interned at the Currency Trade Department and Middle Markets at Merryll Lynch, Wall Street.
