U_POLIS supported by GIZ offers intensive training on ceramic and glass crafts and technique.
During these years U_POLIS, in line with its mission and values that seek to positively impact the society, has expanded its scope towards Vocational Education and Training. The concept of this proposal derives from the consolidated experience of POLIS as an institution and its staff in VET and more specifically in the area of design and creative crafts.
The training programme will consist of theoretical and practical (hands on) activities aimed at illustrating relevant ceramic and glass design and crafts techniques, in compliance with internationally recognized conservation principles and standards.
The primary goal of the course is to give to equip the participants with the knowledge and capability to became a “Specialist on Pottery/ Ceramics and Glass Design”. The intensive course is designed to provide educational and practical experience in both classroom and laboratory settings. Through lectures, discussions, demonstration, laboratory sessions and practical activities, participants will discuss and engage in the latest methodologies employed in all phases of the before mentioned crafts.
